दादी की यह मोटी रोटी
छूछी भी लगती है मीठी
गेहूँ मकई चना मिला है
घर की चक्की का आटा है
उपलों पर इसको सेंका है
सत कुछ बूढ़े हाथों का है
जैसे जीवन जैसे माटी
सोंधी सोंधी लगती रोटी

मैं भी रानी तू भी रानी
कौन भरे गगरी में पानी
गगरी खुद जाये पनघट तक
भरकर आ जाये चौखट तक

हमने उस पर चलना छोड़ा
रोता रहता इक्के वाला

नजर लगी थी सबकी छुपछुप

चुहिया इक दिन गयी डाकघर
बड़े लिफाफे में जा छुप कर

पाने वाले इसको पढ़ कर

छड़ी पुरानी है पर सुंदर
दादाजी चलते हैं लेकर
हरदम साथ लगी रहती है
चलते बात किया करती है
सोचूँ उनके सो जाने पर

ऊबड़ खाबड़ जीवन पथ पर

करती भैंस जुगाली है
