यह एक फिल्म समीक्षक की नहीं, फिल्म की एक रसिया की डायरी के कुछ अनुच्छेद हैं. एक ऐसी रसिया जिसकी डायरी ही नहीं, जेहन में भी कुछ फिल्मों के कुछेक दृश्य हमेशा के लिए वैसे ही जिन्दा रह गए हैं, जैसे किसी कविता की पंक्तियाँ या बचपन के सुने किस्से अमिट रह जाते हैं हमारी स्मृति में. ये दृश्य उस फिल्मरसिया के चयन हैं जिसके लिए रूमानी ख्याल ज्यादा कीमती हैं और जीने के लिए बेहद जरुरी. लेकिन साथ ही अस्तित्वों के मिलन और सामंजस्य से परे सह-अस्तित्व को संभव-असंभव देखना भी मेरी नज़र की भूख है. इसलिए अगर मेरी पसंद के दृश्यों में से किसी एक को पहली पसंद बताना हो तो निश्चय ही 2005 में बनी ‘प्राइड एंड प्रेज्यूडिस’ फिल्म से ही चुनुंगी. तो उसी से सही…
प्राइड एंड प्रेज्यूडिस (2005)
हालाँकि जेन आस्टिन के इस उपन्यास पर अलग-अलग भाषाओँ में कई फिल्में बन चुकी हैं, धारावाहिक बन चुके हैं, लेकिन 2005 में आई ‘प्राइड एंड प्रेजुडिस’ फिल्म मेरी पहली पसंद है क्योंकि औपन्यासिक कथा के वातावरण को पूरी तरह जीवंत करने वाली ऐसी सिनेमेटोग्राफी मुझे कम फिल्मों में ही नज़र आई है. इस फिल्म के दृश्य हमारे समक्ष कुछ ऐसे खुलते हैं मानो उपन्यास के पन्ने पलटे जा रहे हों. पहला ही दृश्य है- जिसमें लिज़ (कीरा नाइटली) एक किताब के पन्ने पलटते हुए बाहर से अपने घर में आती है. उस रास्ते और घर को देखते हुए हम उपन्यास में वर्णित समय, वर्ग और जीवन-शैली सबको सजीव साकार होते देखते हैं. फिल्म के अंतिम क्षणों का एक दृश्य है- लेडी कैथरीन द्वारा अपमानित लिज रात भर बैचैन और उनींदे रहने के बाद भोर के झुटपुटे में बाहर निकलती है और दूर क्षितिज से सूरज के साथ एक बिम्ब उभरता है. लॉन्ग शॉट में मि. डार्सी (मैथ्यू मैक्फेडेन) उसकी ओर लम्बे डग भरते हुए दिखते हैं. उन्हें लिज की तरफ आते हुए देख उसके साथ दर्शक का दिल भी धड़कने लगे तो आश्चर्य नहीं! इस फिल्म में शायद ही कोई ऐसा दृश्य है जो अपना प्रभाव न छोड़ पाता हो. खैर, समूची फिल्म की नहीं, इसके एक खास दृश्य की बात करते हैं जो मुझे विशेष प्रिय है.
लिज़ अपनी नवविवाहित सहेली शार्लट के पास गई है जहाँ उसके होने की खबर पा कर मि. डार्सी भी आते हैं. कहानी से अपरिचित दर्शकों को यह महज संयोग लग सकता है. वहीं चर्च में डार्सी के करीबी फिट्ज़ विलियम से बातचीत के दौरान लिज़ को पता चलता है कि उसकी सबसे सुन्दर और प्यारी बहन जेन के टूटे हुए दिल के पीछे इसी शख्स का हाथ है जिसे वह अब नफ़रत जैसा कुछ करने लगी है. बावजूद इसके उसे समझ में नहीं आ रहा है कि आखिर कोई ऐसा कैसे कर सकता है? प्रेम में डूबे दो लोगों को अलग करने वाले मि. डार्सी के प्रति अपने गुस्से, अपमान-बोध और जेन के दुखों का तीव्र स्मरण उसे ऐसे भावोद्वेग में डालता है कि वह चर्च से भागती है. एलिज़ाबेथ एक पुल के ऊपर दौड़ रही है. उसके भीतर के दाह को शांत करने के लिए ही मानो बाहर तेज़ बारिश हो रही है जिसमें भींगती हुई वह विशाल खम्भों और दीवारों वाले प्रांगण में पहुँच जाती है. दूर-दूर तक फैले हुए लम्बे पेड़ों से घिरी बारिश के कोमल सांवले अँधेरे के बीच, पानी से बेतरह तर-ब-तर लिज़ की आँखों से धारासार आंसू बह रहे हैं. मानो उसका संतप्त हृदय बरस रहा हो. तभी समने दीखते हैं मि. डार्सी! उन्हें वहां देख लिज़ चौंकती है, और उसके साथ हम भी.
मि. डार्सी के चेहरे पर कुछ अलग किस्म का रूमानी तनाव है; जैसे कोई किशोरवय लड़का पहली बार प्रेम-निवेदन करने को प्रस्तुत हो. गहन आत्म-संघर्ष के बाद वह कह पाता है कि उसके इस जगह पर आने का मूल कारण एलिज़ाबेथ का वहां मौजूद होना है. मि.डार्सी का कहना है कि वह लिज़ के जादू में बिंध कर यहाँ आया है, फिर भी अपने भावों को बयां करना उसके लिए बेहद मुश्किल है. बहुत कोशिश करने पर जिन शब्दों को वह कह पा रहा है, उन्हें सुन कोई भी स्वाभिमानी स्त्री उसके प्रेम निवेदन को स्वीकृत नहीं करेगी. जबकि लिज़ तो पहले ही भरी पड़ी थी अपमान-बोध और वेदना से. जब वह उसके निम्न स्तर और अपने उदीप्त प्रेम की बात करता है, फिर उसके परिवार की निम्नता के बाद भी विवाह के प्रस्ताव की उदारता दिखाता है तब लिज़ एक ठंढी साफगोई और चुभती हुई व्यंग्य कुशलता से उसे मना कर देती है.
भावात्मक तनाव के इस दृश्य में एक-दूसरे पर कर रहे कठोर व्यंग्य-प्रहारों के परे हमें प्रेम के पाश में बंधे एक जैसे दो लोग दिखाई देते हैं. दोनों बहुत हद तक एक जैसे अक्खड़ और स्वाभिमानी हैं. यह स्त्रियोचित मान नहीं, बल्कि व्यक्ति की गरिमा और अपने स्वतंत्र अस्तित्व का प्रदर्शन है. उनके नाटकीय साक्षात्कार की शारीरिक निकटता जो न लिए गए चुम्बन तक रह जाती है, दर्शक के मन के ऊपर दो छाप छोडती है- न हो सके चुम्बन की कसक और मि. डार्सी का वाकई सज्जन होना. कीरा और मैथ्यू ने वाकई जेन के एलिज़ाबेथ और मि. डार्सी को सजीव कर दिया है.
द नोटबुक (2004)
‘द नोटबुक’ ऐसी फिल्म है जिसे देख कर प्रेमी युगल के हृदय में मृत्यु का स्वप्न जग जाए. हाँ, बिलकुल वैसी ही मृत्यु की चाह, जैसी नोहा और एली की हुई है. यह प्रेम का चरम है जब प्रकृति भी आपके आगे झुक जाती है. वैसे यह फिल्म अपने औपन्यासिक विस्तार में दृश्य-दर-दृश्य सराहनीय है, लेकिन हर अच्छी फिल्म का भी एक चरमोत्कर्ष होता है. इस फिल्म के सबसे प्रिय दृश्य की बात से पहले कुछ दूसरी अहम बातें.
प्रेम में देह का निषेध जो करते हैं वे करें. सचाई तो यही है कि प्रेम की परिपूर्णता की भौतिक अनुभूति का माध्यम देह ही है. जिन्होंने ‘लोलिता’ उपन्यास को पढ़ा है, वे जानते हैं कि किशोर उम्र का अधूरा दैहिक अनुभव कुंठा में परिणत हो जाता है. ‘द नोटबुक’ फिल्म में भी वही अधूरापन दोनों को जीवन में अलग हो आगे नहीं बढ़ने देता. नोहा और एली दोनों अलग होते हुए भी एक जैसे हैं.
एली सीब्रूक आईलैंड पर छुट्टियाँ मनाने आई अमीरजादी है और नोहा वहां के लोकल छोकरों में शामिल है जो छुट्टियों में आई इन तितलियों का मनबहलाव करते हैं. एक कार्निवल में एली को देख नोहा उसपर फ़िदा हो जाता है. फिर दोनों की पहली मुलाकात की गहरे आकर्षण में तब्दीली रूमानी सफर-सा है. एली समंदर में कूदते हुए कहती है कि ‘मैं चिड़िया हूँ’ तो नोहा जवाब देता है- ‘अगर तुम चिड़िया हो, मैं भी चिड़िया हूँ’. लेकिन इन चिड़ियों का उन्मुक्त उड़ना एली के माता-पिता को नहीं सुहाता. माँ उसे भावुक अंदाज में समझाने की कोशिश करती है और पिता व्यावहारिक कदम उठा कर.
एक सुरमई शाम, एक खँडहर में बैठ नोहा उस जगह दोनों का घर बनाने के सपने का चित्र उकेरता है. एली हौले-हौले उसके सपनों की उडान में खो जाती है. वहीं झिझकते हुए दोनों मासूम कैशोर्य के समागम को उत्सुक होते हैं. ठीक उसी वक़्त नोहा का दोस्त एली को ढूंढता हुआ वहां पहुँच जाता है क्योंकि उसके पिता ने एली के नहीं मिलने की खबर पुलिस को दे दी है और उसे ढूंढा जा रहा है. उनकी ज़िंदगी आगे बढ़ जाती है, बदल जाती है, परन्तु मन और देह उसी जगह ठहर गया है. माँ की तमाम शातिर कोशिशों के बाद भी एली के भीतर मौजूद प्रेम खत्म नहीं होता. इधर नोहा को लगता है कि अगर वह घर बना लेगा तो एली जरुर उसकी ज़िन्दगी में वापस आ जाएगी.
एली अपने विवाह के ठीक पहले एक अख़बार में घर के साथ नोहा की तस्वीर देख बेहोश हो जाती है. इसके बाद अपने सवालों के जवाब तलाशने पहुँचती है नोहा के पास, जिसे यकीन था कि अगर उसने सपनों का वह घर बना लिया तो एली जरुर आएगी.
फिर एक दोपहर ढेर सारे हंस इस तरह शांत झील के तल पर तिर रहे हैं कि पानी नहीं दिख रहा. कहीं-कहीं वे जलकेली में मग्न हैं और अपने लिए उछाले जाते दानों की तरफ बिलकुल ध्यान नहीं दे रहे. शाम के आसमान के रंग की ड्रेस में लिपटी एली किलकती हुई पक्षियों के लिए दाने उछाल रही है. खुद से बनाई हुई एक सुन्दर डोंगी में नोहा उसे देखता-सराहता जा रहा है. उस समय नोहा की जो नज़र है, वह नज़र अविस्मरणीय है. कैसी लग रही है एली उसे? लुभावन, अपनी… पर अपनी नहीं… हाथ भर की दूरी और सालों का फासला! इस फासले को लांघने-समेटने के लिए ही मानो झमाझम बूँदें बरसती हैं. गीले होने से बचने की बेतुकी कोशिश में लगी एली का संकोच दूर हो जाता है, अपने पर हँसते नोहा को देख कर. और तब वह पूछती है अपना सवाल, जिसके जवाब के लिए वह अपने मंगेतर को उहापोह में छोड़ इतनी दूर चली आई है. पक्षियों के उल्लास, डोंगी की मंथर रवानी और बारिश की निर्मलता में उसके मन के उलझन जाने कहाँ बह-दह जाते हैं और प्रकट होती है पुरानी एली… उसका पुराना आवेग, उन्माद… और फिर दैहिक प्रेम के गहन क्षण. पर लम्बे पेड़ों की धूसर छाया में डूबी झील के पानी पर हंसों के जोड़ों के बीच डोंगी में बैठ तैरते प्रेमी-युगल का यह चित्र आँखों में नहीं, दिल में ठहर जाता है एक बार देखने के बाद भी.
द ब्रिजेज ऑफ़ मैडिसन काउंटी (1995)
रॉबर्ट कहता है कि “चाहे कितनी भी लम्बी हो यह जिंदगी, पर संशय से भरे इस कायनात में ऐसा यकीन एक बार ही आता है.” हमने देखा कि वह फ्रेंचेस्का को अपने साथ चलने के लिए कह रहा है और वह अपना सूटकेस पैक भी कर रही है, लेकिन तब भी हम जानते हैं कि उसे नहीं जाना है. यह दृश्य है ‘द ब्रिजेज ऑफ़ मैडिसन काउंटी’ का, जिसमें चालीस पार की फ्रेंचेस्का और पचास पार के रॉबर्ट जब मिलते हैं तब उन्हें पता चलता है कि उनके जीवन की रिक्ति क्या थी. मानो अब तक की जिंदगी दोनों ने हिज़्र में गुजारी थी और आगे की तकदीर भी कुछ ऐसी ही थी. पर इन तीन दिनों में उन्होंने वह पा लिया जो जीवन भर में एक बार भी मिल जाये तो मानव देह धरना सार्थक हो जाय.
रॉबर्ट जेम्स वालर के इसी नाम के बेस्टसेलर उपन्यास पर बनी यह फिल्म उपन्यास से कुछ बेहतर ही लगती है तो इसके पीछे मेरिल स्ट्रीप (फ्रेंचेस्का) और क्लिंट ईस्टवुड (रॉबर्ट) का बेहतरीन अभिनय कौशल है. यह किशोर भावुकता की फिल्म नहीं है. किशोरावस्था लगभग पार कर चुके दो बच्चों की माँ है वह, परिपक्व स्त्री, जिसके लिए हम यह नहीं कह सकते कि प्रेम उसकी ऊब से उपजा शगल है. एक संवाद में वह कहती है- ‘यह वह जीवन नहीं जिसकी उसने कामना की थी.’ रॉबर्ट की रिक्ति ठहराव है तो फ्रेंचेस्का की ऊब जब्दी हुई एकरसता है.
इस फिल्म में मेरे प्रिय दृश्य वे हैं जिनमें जाने की चाह और रुकने की विवशता होती है. फ्रेंचेस्का के उस असमंजस में कहीं-न-कहीं दर्शक का मन भी दोराहे पर आ जाता है. दर्शक का विवेक कहता है कि वह न जाये, पर मन मानो किसी सख्त शिकंजे में कसमसाने लगता है. आँखों से पसीजते आंसू कहते हैं कि वह चली जाये. उसके बगैर गए दिल को सुकून नहीं मिलने वाला. इस किस्म की संशयहीनता जीवन में तभी आती है, जब हमें महसूस हो कि यही जीवन का वह अर्धांश है, जिससे मिल पूर्णता प्राप्त होगी.
दूसरा दृश्य: जब फ्रेंचेस्का बारिश में सामान लेने पति के साथ गयी होती है और उसे रॉबर्ट का ट्रक दिखता है. लाल बत्ती पर वह ट्रक उनकी कार के आगे रुका है. बारिश के धुंधलेपन में वह खिड़की की कांच से बाहर देखती है, क्योंकि सामने देखने पर ट्रक में लटका उसका अपना चेन उसे बेचैन करता है. उसके भीतर धंसी चाहना चिलकती है. वह सोचती है- काश, चली जाती. वह रॉबर्ट को वह फिर से बताना चाहती है कि मैं क्यों नहीं आई और कितना चाहती थी, आना. उसके हाथ कार के दरवाजे को खोलने वाली हैंडल पर कसते जाते हैं, बत्ती हरी होने के बाद भी आगे की गाड़ी हिलती नहीं और बगल में बैठा पति सामने वाले ड्राईवर पर कसमसा रहा है. उस विलंबित क्षण में जैसे ही वह दरवाजा खोलने को होती है, ट्रक पर बैठा पुरुष समझ जाता है कि इसके आगे मंजिल नहीं. फिर वह आगे बढ़ जाता है उसके खुशहाल दांपत्य की कामना में.
सपनों की उड़ान और जिम्मेदारियों की जकड़न, जीवन की एकरस बोझिलता और मन का अथाह उछाह, निर्बंध प्रेम का तीव्र खिंचाव और परिवार के प्रति उत्तरदायित्व— इन द्वंद्वों को मेरिल स्ट्रीप ने इतनी संजीदगी से निभाया है कि उसे देखते हुए हम भी उसकी उलझनों में शामिल हो जाते हैं. कार का दरवाजा खोलने की जुगत में लगे हाथ और न खोलने की चेतावनी देता मन, बाहर की बारिश और भीतर के आंसू— कुल मिलाकर यही साबित करते हैं कि प्रेम अंततः त्रासदी ही तो है! अन्ना कैरेनिना चली जाती है तब भी… फ्रेंचेस्का रह जाती है तब भी…
सिटी ऑफ़ एंजल्स (1998)
बड़ी ही साधारण किस्म की फिल्म है ‘सिटी ऑफ़ एंजल्स’ जो 1987 की एक जर्मन फिल्म ‘विंग्स ऑफ़ डिज़ायर’ से प्रेरित है. मृत्यु के पार का पथ दिखाने वाला एंजल है सेथ (निकोलस केज) और इस दुनिया में जीवन बचाने का काम करनेवाली है डॉक्टर मैगी (मेग रेयान). दिखने में नाज़ुक-सी, पर मौत से जी-जान से लड़ती इस डॉक्टर को देख यह फ़रिश्ता प्रेम में पड़ जाता है. लेकिन मैगी को जीवन की सहज अनुभूतियों से रहित उसकी असाधारणता स्वीकार नहीं. तब सेथ को मनुष्य होने का उपाय मिलता है- गगनचुम्बी इमारत से गिरकर. मनुष्य होने की तमाम दिक्कतें झेलता सेथ मैगी के पास पहुँचता है जो अपने अंकल के पहाड़ी घर पर सप्ताहांत बिताने गयी हुई है. जिस हाल में वह पहुंचता है उसे देख मैगी जान जाती है कि वह अपनी असाधारणता ख़त्म कर आया है. पहाड़ी घर में आग के सामने जो मिलन का दृश्य है, वह तो हॉलीवुड की तमाम फिल्मों में बेहद आम है.
मेरा पसंदीदा दृश्य उस रात के बाद की सुबह का है. मनुष्य बनने के बाद सेथ शावर लेते हुए गरम पानी की बूंदे अपनी त्वचा पर महसूस कर रहा होता है. यह उसके लिए नया, अलहदा और रोमांचकारी अनुभव है. उधर रात के देह-मिलन के नेह में डूबी, भावी जीवन की कोमल कामनाओं में मगन मैगी अपनी धुन में, बंद आँखों और खुली बाँहों के साथ सड़क पर साइकिल चलाती घर लौट रही है. आखिर उसके प्रिय ने उसके लिए मनुष्य-जीवन चुन ही लिया जो अपनी तुच्छ सीमाओं में भी आह्लादकारी होता है. उसी के लिए वह बाज़ार से नाशपाती (जिससे जुड़ी एक मधुर स्मृति भी है) लेकर घर लौट रही है. पतझड़ की उस सुनहली सुबह में उसकी दूध-धुली हंसी घुल रही है कि अघटित घटित होता है. उस दुर्घटना के ठीक पहले, मृत्यु के ठीक एक क्षण पूर्व जो परिपूर्णता मेग रेयान के अभिनय कौशल से मैगी के चहरे पर परिलक्षित होती है, वह अद्भुत है. सारे ज़माने को समेटने को खुली हुई बांहें, प्रिय की स्पर्श- कामनाओं से मुंदी हुई पलकें और सबकुछ पा लेने की पूर्णता- बस इस परिपूर्णता के बाद तो मुक्ति ही होती है न?
इस दुर्घटना का आभास पा भागा-भागा सेथ आता है और उसके चेहरे पर नियति से वंचना पाने का, इसके पीछे अपनी गलती होने का, अपराध-बोध के अहसास का जो भाव आता है, वह भी अविस्मरणीय है. मनुष्य बने सेथ के हाथ क्या सिर्फ मृत्यु की रिक्ति आती है? नहीं, वह कहता है, “सदा के लिए मिलनेवाले अमरत्व को उसकी जुल्फों में चेहरे को छिपाकर भरी हुई एक साँस, होंठों के एक चुम्बन अथवा हाथों के एक स्पर्श- किसी भी एक चीज़ के लिए छोड़ सकता था.” अमरत्व पर, असाधारणता पर भारी पड़ने वाले एक चुम्बन के लिए देखी जा सकती है यह साधारण सी फिल्म.
लास्ट नाईट (2010)
वह शनिवार की रात न होती और ‘लास्ट नाईट’ में आजकल की मेरी पसंदीदा हिरोइन कीरा नाइटली नहीं होती तो टी.वी. पर आ रही इस फिल्म को मैं उसकी धीमी रफ़्तार और बार-बार दुहराए जा रहे दाम्पत्य-वंचना के घिसे-पिटे विषय के कारण नहीं ही देखती. देखा तो पाया कि यह बस संबंध की जटिलता और विवाहेतर आकर्षण मात्र नहीं है. इसकी कहानी बस इतनी नहीं है कि आप खुश-खुश जीते हुए भी प्रलोभन में आ सकते हैं, या आपके पास गंवाया हुआ मौका फिर से आ जाये तो आप उसे लपक लेंगे या नहीं? फिल्म बेहद संजीदगी से यह पूछती है कि आप अपनी बेहद आकर्षक मगर अनैतिक इच्छाओं से अधिक मजबूत हैं या नहीं? आप वही बनते हैं जिसका चयन आप करते हैं. आपके लिए देह की पवित्रता क्या संबंध की वफ़ादारी का एकमात्र निकष है? देह पवित्र हो और आत्मा के शीशे में दूसरी अक्स दिखे तो क्या निष्ठा (व्यक्ति नहीं, संबंध में) बची रहती है? एक मायने में यह स्त्री और पुरुष के अलग-अलग स्वाभाव के रास्ते प्रेम में उनकी वफ़ा और बेवफाई को परखती फिल्म है.
इस फिल्म की कमी यह है कि इन गंभीर प्रश्नों को उतनी संजीदगी से स्पष्ट नहीं कर पाई है. फिर भी जो दृश्य मैं भूल नहीं पाती, वह है एलेक्स के साथ पूरी शाम बिताते हुए लिफ्ट के उन्मादी चुम्बन में लिपटी हुई जोआना (कीरा) उसके कमरे में पहुँचती है. हमें लगता है कि जोआना को अपने पति पर शक है, एक ही मन-मिजाज के एलेक्स के साथ वह पहले से ही प्रेम में है और उस रात वह पूरी तैयारी के साथ गयी है तो जरुर प्रेम का यह खिंचाव देह की धुरी पर सहेजा जाएगा. लेकिन नहीं, वह मना कर देती है. आंसुओं से भरी आवाज में जब वो कहती है कि मैं तुमसे प्रेम करती हूँ लेकिन मैं उससे (अपने पति से) भी प्रेम करती हूँ. सुबह माइकल (पति) से झगडा भी संभवतः उसके चल रहे विवाहेतर संबंध पर ही हुआ था. प्रेम और वैवाहिक ईमानदारी के द्वंद्व में घिरी जोआना अपने सर्वश्रेष्ठ अंतःवस्त्रों को पहनकर आई जरुर है लेकिन वह और एलेक्स रात भर एक-दूसरे की बाँहों में मासूम बच्चों की तरह बस लिपटे भर रहते हैं. ठीक उसी रात दूसरी तरफ माइकल अपनी सहकर्मी लॉरा के साथ होता है. बातचीत में यह जाहिर होता है कि इससे पहले माइकल ने जोआना को छला नहीं है, लेकिन उस रात वह एक दुर्दमनीय शारीरिक आवेग से ग्रस्त है. लॉरा और माइकल दोनों स्विमिंग पूल में बातें कर रहे होते हैं. वहां लॉरा माइकल को आमंत्रित भी नहीं करती और उसका निषेध भी नहीं करती. ठीक उसी समय जब पत्नी प्रेम के अंतर्विरोधों से गुजर रही होती है पति एक दूसरी स्त्री के साथ उन्मादी सम्भोग में लिप्त है. दोनों दृश्यों की परस्पर टकराहट ही फिल्म के तनाव को चरम पर ले जाती है.
अगली सुबह अपनी स्मृतियों का भी निषेध करता माइकल ग्लानि-बोध से ग्रस्त ट्रिप बीच में ही छोड़ वापस आता है और अपने सबसे बेहतरीन अंतःवस्त्रों में लिपटी पत्नी न पाए हुए प्रेम के अधूरेपन से घिरी सिगरेट और आँसुओं की गिरफ्त में है. पुरुष देह को भोग उससे भागता है, स्त्री देह का निषेध कर विभाजित मन के साथ ठिठकी हुई है. देह की ईमानदारी बड़ी है या मन की? प्रेम का यह उलझाऊ सवाल फिल्म के अंत की तरह अनुतरित रहता है.
