(मलयालम व अंग्रेज़ी के वरिष्ठ कवि एवं आलोचक के. सच्चिदानन्दन एक लब्धप्रतिष्ठ अनुवादक भी हैं। वे अंग्रेज़ी के प्राध्यापक होने के अतिरिक्त एक लंबे समय तक साहित्य अकादमी से जुड़े रहे हैं तथा उसके सचिव भी रहे हैं। वे मलयालम की आधुनिक व नवोत्थानवादी कविता के प्रमुख हस्ताक्षर हैं। उनके दो दर्ज़न से अधिक कविता–संग्रह तथा विश्व की विभिन्न भाषाओं की रचनाओं के अनुवाद के अनेक संग्रह प्रकाशित हो चुके हैं। उनकी खुद की रचनाओं का भी विश्व की अनेक भाषाओं में अनुवाद हुआ है। उन्हें देश – विदेश में साहित्य के विभिन्न पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित किया जा चुका है। यहाँ प्रस्तुत है समेकित भारतीय साहित्य की अवधारणा के संबन्ध में ‘कल के लिए’ पत्रिका में प्रकाशनार्थ उनके साथ की गई बातचीत का कवि एवं आलोचक उमेश चौहान द्वारा किया गया गया हिन्दी रूपांतरण)

प्रश्न 1. क्या भारतीय साहित्य की कोई समेकित अवधारणा निर्मित हो सकी है? यदि हां तो उसकी सामान्य विशेषताएं क्या है?
उत्तर: अनेक विद्वानों ने भारतीय साहित्य के एक समेकित स्वरूप को स्थापित करने की कोशिश की है. डॉ. एस. राधाकृष्णन ने एक समय पर कहा था, “विभिन्न भाषाओं में लिखे जाने के बावजूद भारतीय साहित्य एक है.” उसके बाद डॉ. रामविलास शर्मा, उमाशंकर जोशी, यू. आर. अनंतमूर्ति, शिशिर कुमार दास, शेल्डान पोलॉक, वसुधा डालमिया, ए. के, रामानुजम तथा कई अन्य साहित्यिक इतिहासकारों व विद्वानों ने भी अलग-अलग तरीके से भारतीय साहित्य की एक समेकित अवधारणा होने का समर्थन किया है. मेरे सहित भारतीय साहित्य के तमाम समकालीन अध्येता (मैं स्वयं को एक स्कॉलर नहीं मानता), जिनमें गणेश डेवी व ई. वी. रामकृष्णन जैसे लोग शामिल हैं, सोचते हैं कि भारत की विभिन्न भाषाओं के साहित्य की विविधताओं को दरकिनार कर, एक एकीकृत भारतीय साहित्य की अवधारता को स्थापित करना ख़तरनाक होगा. यू. आर. अनंतमूर्ति ने एक अवसर पर कहा है,“जब हम भारतीय साहित्य की एकता को देखने चलते हैं तब इसकी विविधता सामने आ जाती है और जब हम इसकी विविधता को परखने चलते हैं तब इसकी एकता दिखाई देने लगती है.” यही बात सत्य के सबसे नज़दीक लगती है. हालाँकि मैं निहार रंजन रे जैसे आलोचकों से सहमत नहीं हूँ, जिनके विचार में न ही हम किसी साहित्य को ‘भारतीय साहित्य‘ कह सकते हैं और न ही किसी भाषा को ‘भारतीय भाषा‘. यह एक झूठी अवधारणा है, विशेषकर तब, जब हम ‘यूरोपियन‘ जैसी किसी भाषा के न होते हुए भी ‘यूरोपियन साहित्य‘ की बात करते हैं या फिर एक ही भाषा अंग्रेज़ी में लिखे हुए साहित्य को ब्रिटिश, अमेरिकन, आस्ट्रेलियन, कनाडियन अथवा भारतीय अंग्रेज़ी साहित्य जैसे अलग-अलग रूपों में देखते हैं. भाषा ही साहित्य के वर्गीकरण का एकमात्र आधार नहीं होती. आलोचकों ने वर्ग, जाति, लिंग, संरचना, उत्पत्ति, सैद्धांतिकता,मनोवैज्ञानिक-विश्लेषण आदि के आधार पर साहित्य का वर्गीकरण किया है. वास्तव में हमें भारतीय साहित्य की एक समेकित अवधारणा को विकसित करने के बजाय उसके तुलनात्मक स्वरूप को सामने रखना चाहिए ताकि न तो हम भारतीय भाषाओं एवं उनके साहित्य में अन्तर्निहित एकता को नज़रंदाज़ कर सके और न ही उनकी विविधताओं को.
प्रश्न 2. भारतीय साहित्य की एक समेकित अवधारणा किन-किन सामान्य तत्वों के आधार पर विकसित हो सकती है?
उत्तर: भारतीय साहित्य के सामान्य आधार हैं; एक – साझा परम्पराएँ, जैसे संस्कृत, प्राकृत,पाली आदि का साहित्य, दो – साझे प्रभाव, जैसे फारसी व पाश्चात्य (यूरोपियन) साहित्य का असर, तीन – समान आंदोलन, जैसे भक्ति व सूफी आंदोलन, सामाजिक सुधारवाद एवं राष्ट्रवाद, प्रगतिवाद, आधुनिकतावाद एवं अन्य सम्बद्ध या अंतर्निहित आंदोलन, जैसे दलित-विमर्श, स्त्री-विमर्श, आदिवासी-विमर्श आदि, चार – हमारे रचनाकारों के साझे सामाजिक व सांस्कृतिक सरोकार, जैसे वर्ग, जाति, वर्ण, लिंग-स्वातंत्र्य,मौलिक स्वातंत्र्य, राष्ट्रीय एकता,धर्म-निरपेक्षता आदि से जुड़ी चिन्ताएँ, पाँच – प्राचीन महाकाव्यात्मक साहित्य, जैसे रामायण, महाभारत आदि का विभिन्न भाषाओं पर पड़ा समान प्रभाव. लेकिन मैं यहाँ यह भी जोड़ना चाहूँगा कि जब हम इन बातों को बारीकी से देखते हैं तो यह भी पाते हैं कि जिस तरह से यह बातें विभिन्न भाषाओं में अभिव्यक्त होती हैं, उसमें भी काफी भिन्नता है और कुछ बातें पूरी विशिष्टताओं के साथ साझा भी नहीं होती हैं. जैसे कि पूर्वोत्तर भारत में संस्कृत महाकाव्यों का प्रभाव काफी कम रहा, विभिन्न भाषाओं में भक्ति-साहित्य की शैली अलग-अलग रही (शबद, बीजक, अभंग, वख, वचन, कीर्तन, धुन, भजन आदि) तथा आदिवासियों की भाषाओं के अपने अलग ही मौखिक अथवा श्रुत महाकाव्य एवं वाचिक परम्पराएँ हैं. जब हम सरसरी तौर पर कुछ कहते हैं तो उसमें बहुत कुछ छूट जाता है. हमें ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि प्रारम्भिक दौर के यूरोपीय इतिहासकारों ने जब भारतीय साहित्य की बात की तो उन्होंने मुख्यतः केवल संस्कृत भाषा के साहित्य की ही बात की, जबकि इन इतिहासों के लिखे जाने के अर्थात् उन्नीसवीं शताब्दी तक देश की लगभग सभी भाषाओं में श्रेष्ठ साहित्य का सृजन हो चुका था. उन्होंने तमिल-साहित्य तक को संज्ञान में नहीं लिया जिसकी उत्पत्ति तो लगभग ढाई हज़ार वर्ष पुरानी है.
प्रश्न 3. क्या भारतीय साहित्य के विभिन्न भाषायी घटकों के बीच अंतर्सम्बंध बनाने में हिन्दी एक सेतु बन सकती है? अब तक इस क्षेत्र में हिन्दी ने जो भूमिका निभाई है उसके बारे में आपके क्या विचार हैं?
उत्तर: जब हम अन्य भारतीय भाषाओं के अंतर्सम्बंध की बात करते हैं तो पाते हैं कि अन्य भारतीय भाषाओं की तुलना में हिंदी में काफी खुलापन है. कुछ भारतीय भाषाओं जैसे बांग्ला, कन्नड़ व मराठी आदि में विदेशी भाषाओं से तो खूब अनुवाद होते हैं लेकिन अन्य भारतीय भाषाओं से बहुत कम. हिंदी में अनुवाद की एक लम्बी परम्परा है, लेकिन अभी भी बहुत किया जाना बाकी है. दूसरी भारतीय भाषाओं की तरह हिंदी में भी बांग्ला से अनुवाद किए जाने की प्रचुरता रही है. हिंदी में दूर-दराज़ की अन्य साहित्य-सम्पन्न भाषाओं जैसे असमिया, ओड़िया, तमिल, मलयालम, मणिपुरी आदि से और ज्यादा अनुवाद किए जाने की आवश्यकता है.
प्रश्न 4. भारतीय सहित्य के अंतर्सम्बंधों को मजबूत करने में कौन-कौन से तत्व उपयोगी हो सकते हैं? इस क्षेत्र में हिन्दी भाषा के साहित्यकारों से आपको और क्या अपेक्षाएं हैं?
उत्तर: हमारी समस्या यह है कि हिंदी के ऐसे बहुत कम वक्ता हैं जिन्होंने अन्य भारतीय भाषाएँ सीखी हों. इसी कारण से हिंदी से अन्य भाषाओं में तथा अन्य भाषाओं से हिंदी में अनुवाद भी प्राय: दूसरी भाषाएँ बोलने वाले लोगों द्वारा ही किए जाते हैं. इस प्रवृत्ति ने अन्य भाषा-भाषियों के बीच हिंदी के विरुद्ध काफी पूर्वाग्रह-भरी भावना पैदा की है, क्योंकि उन्हें लगता है कि अन्य भाषाएँ बोलने वाले तो हिंदी सीखते हैं किंतु हिंदी बोलने वाले अन्य भारतीय भाषाएँ नहीं सीखना चाहते. हिंदी तथा अन्य भारतीय भाषाओं के बीच स्वस्थ सम्बंध स्थापित करने लिए यह सबसे पहली समस्या है जिसका समाधान किया जाना चाहिए. और इसका एकमात्र समाधान इसी में निहित है कि हिंदी-भाषी प्रदेशों की स्कूली-शिक्षा में अनिवार्य रूप से तथा कड़ाई के साथ त्रिभाषा फार्मूला लागू किया जाय. प्रारम्भिक आयु में तीन भाषाएँ सीखना किसी भी बच्चे के लिए कठिन काम नहीं है. इस शर्त को पूरा किए बिना हिंदी सही मायनों में देश की सम्पर्क भाषा नहीं बन सकती है. इसी के साथ ही हिंदी में होने वाले अनुवादों की गुणवत्ता सुनिश्चित किया जाना भी बहुत जरूरी है, क्योंकि वर्तमान में जो अनुवाद अन्य भाषा-भाषियों द्वारा हिंदी में किए जा रहे हैं, वे बहुत अच्छे और समसामयिक नहीं हैं.
प्रश्न 5. इस क्षेत्र में आप की जातीय भाषा के साहित्यकार की क्या भूमिका हो सकती है? इस क्षेत्र में सेतु निर्मित करने वाले साहित्यकारों-अनुवादकों के योगदान पर संक्षेप में प्रकाश डालें.
उत्तर: मैं यह भी जरूरी मानता हूँ कि क्षेत्रीय भाषाओं के लेखकों को भी अन्य भाषाओं का बेहतरीन साहित्य पढ़ना चाहिए तथा उसका ज्यादा से अनुवाद भी करना चाहिए. अपनी भाषा मलयालम के सम्बन्ध में मैं कह सकता हूँ कि आज हिन्दी क्षेत्र से केवल तीन ही ऐसे जीवित व्यक्ति हैं, जो मलयालम से हिन्दी में सीधे अनुवाद कर सकते हैं. ये हैं यू.के.एस. चौहान, रति सक्सेना एवं सुधांशु चतुर्वेदी. इन लोगों ने मलयालम की कुछ प्रमुख कृतियों का हिन्दी में अनुवाद किया है. इनमें से पहले दो ने कविताओं का अनुवाद किया है और तीसरे ने कथा-कृतियों का. मलयालम से हिन्दी में किए गए बाकी अधिकांश अनुवाद तथा हिन्दी से मलयालम में किए गए लगभग समस्त अनुवाद ऐसे मलयालियों द्वारा ही किए गए हैं, जिन्हें हिन्दी आती है.
प्रश्न 6. राष्ट्रीय एकता के परिप्रेक्ष्य में भारतीय साहित्य की क्या सकारात्मक भूमिका हो सकती है?
उत्तर: भाषाओं और लोगों को करीब लाने में साहित्य की महती भूमिका होती है क्योंकि इसके माध्यम से ही लोगों में एक दूसरे की क्षेत्रीय संस्कृति, भौगोलिक पृष्ठभूमि, स्वभाव और रहन-सहन के बारे में समझ विकसित होती है. अगर मैं आज बंगालियों के बारे में इतना सब कुछ जानता हूँ तो वह केवल इसी कारण से है कि मैं बचपन से टैगोर, माणिक बन्दोपाध्याय, शरतचन्द्र चटर्जी, ताराशंकर बनर्जी, शंकर, जरासंधन, सुनील गंगोपाध्याय, महाश्वेतादेवी, विमलकर दिब्येन्दु पालित, आदि की मलयालम में उप्लब्ध कृतियों को पढ़ता रहा हूँ. यही बात हिन्दी के बारे में भी है. मैंने बचपन से प्रेमचन्द, यशपाल, जैनेन्द्र कुमार, निर्मल वर्मा, अज्ञेय आदि की कृतियों को मलयालम में पढ़ा है. इसी के कारण हम कोलकाता, दिल्ली और मुंबई की सड़कों बिल्डिंगों व सार्वजनिक स्थानों के बारे में इन शहरों का भ्रमण करने के पहले से ही अच्छी तरह से जान जाते हैं. इतना ही नहीं हम इन स्थानों की संस्कृति, रिश्ते-नातों व व्यवहार-विचार आदि के बारे में भी बहुत कुछ जान जाते हैं। अतः देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों के लोगों के बीच सम्बन्धों को पुख़्ता बनाने के लिए साहित्य से ज्यादा योगदान किसी और चीज़ का नहीं हो सकता है.
प्रश्न 7. अहिन्दी भाषियों द्वारा रचे जाने वाले हिन्दी-साहित्य को साहित्य के इतिहास में कितनी जगह मिली है? क्या आप इससे संतुष्ट हैं? इसी प्रकार विभिन्न भाषाओं के अनूदित साहित्य के योगदान के बारे में आपका क्या मूल्यांकन है?
उत्तर: मैं यह नहीं मानता कि गैर–हिन्दी भाषियों के हिन्दी–लेखन को हिन्दी–साहित्य की मुख्यधारा में कभी कोई जगह मिली है, हालाँकि उन्हें प्रोत्साहित और पुरस्कृत किए जाने की तमामयोजनाएँ हैं. यह स्थिति विचित्र लगती है क्योंकि इसी के बरक्स भारतीय भाषा–भाषियों का अंग्रेज़ी साहित्य देश के साहित्य की मुख्यधारा में अपना स्थान बना चुका है, भले ही अभी कुछ अपवादों को छोड़कर उसे विश्व के अंग्रेज़ी–साहित्य की मुख्यधारा में स्थान न मिला हो. ऐसे गैर–हिन्दी भाषी हिन्दी–लेखकों को अपने क्षेत्र में भी समुचित सम्मान नहीं मिलता, भले ही जम्मू, नेपाल एवं राजस्थान की स्थिति कुछ भिन्न है. इसका मुख्य कारण यही है कि ज्यादातर क्षेत्रीय लेखक अपनी भाषा में ही लिखना पसन्द करते हैं और वे अंग्रेज़ी में तभी लिखना शुरू करते हैं जब वे अपनी भाषा में अच्छ लेखन नहीं कर पाते क्योंकि अंग्रेज़ी की स्वीकार्यता देश में तथा बाहर भी ज्यादा व्यापक है. यह प्रवृत्ति आगे भी बनी रहेगी और ज्यादा मज़बूत होगी क्योंकि विभिन्न कारणों से नई पीढ़ी का आत्माभिव्यक्ति के लिए अंग्रेज़ी की ओर ज्यादा झुकाव है. ये युवा जीवन–यापन की नई परिस्थितियों, शिक्षा, पहचान तथा ज्यादा पैसे कमाने जैसे उद्देश्यों को लेकर अपनी मातृभाषा से कटे जा रहे हैं. यहाँ यह बात भी महत्वपूर्ण है कि ऐसे ज्यादातर लेखक सशक्त साहित्यिक विरासत वाली बांग्ला तथा मलयालम जैसी भाषाओं से निकलकर अंग्रेज़ी में आ रहे हैं, किन्तु साथ ही साथ इन भाषाओं में भी उत्कृष्ट साहित्य का रचा जाना जारी है. इसकी वज़ह इन प्रदेशों की सामान्य साहित्यिक संस्कृति भी हो सकती है. लेकिन मैं किसी बंगाली या मलयाली को महत्वपूर्ण हिन्दी–लेखन करते हुए नहीं देख रहा, हालाँकि उनमें से तमाम लोग हिन्दी के अच्छे ज्ञाता हैं. इसका एक कारण यह भी हो सकता है कि यद्यपि हिन्दी में बड़े उत्कृष्ट लेखक हुए हैं और हिन्दी का साहित्य भी श्रेष्ठ है लेकिन हिन्दी–भाषी प्रदेशों में केरल व बंगाल जैसी वह साहित्यिक संस्कृति नहीं है, जिसमें आम लोगों द्वारा साहित्यिकारों को विशेष आदर व सम्मान दिया जाता हो. इसका एक कारण वहाँ साक्षरता का स्तर बेहतर होना हो सकता है. अनूदित–साहित्य ने सभी भाषाओं में अपना महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है. इससे नई प्रवृत्तियों, विधाओं, सोच तथा नए साहित्यिक आंदोलनों तक का जन्म हुआ है. उदाहरण के लिए देखा जाय तो हम पाते हैं कि प्रेमचन्द, यशपाल, ताराशंकर, माणिक बंदोपाध्याय आदि के अनूदित साहित्य के साथ–साथ टॉलस्टाय, दास्तोवेस्की, गोर्की, मोपासा, एमिले, ज़ोला, बाल्ज़ाक आदि के अनूदित साहित्य के प्रभाव ने ही काफी हद तक मलयालम–साहित्य में प्रगतिवाद को जन्म दिया. ऐसा ही आधुनिकतावाद जैसे अन्य आंदोलनों के बारे में भी हुआ.
प्रश्न 8.‘भारतीय संस्कृति और हिन्दी प्रदेश’ एक ऐसी पुस्तक है जिसमें रामविलास शर्मा ने भारतीय साहित्य की अवधारणा को आकार देने की कोशिश की है. क्या आप की नजर में हिन्दी अथवा किसी अन्य भारतीय भाषा में इस तरह की कोई अन्य उल्लेखनीय पुस्तक है? इस काम को और आगे कैसे बढ़ाया जा सकता है?
उत्तर: अनेक भारतीय विद्वानों ने भारतीय साहित्य पर अंग्रेज़ी में पुस्तकें लिखी हैं. शिशिर कुमार दास की ‘हिस्टरी ऑफ इंडियन लिटरेचर’ (तीन खंड) और उमाशंकर जोशी की ‘द आइडिया ऑफ इंडियन लिटरेचर’ इसके दो उत्तम उदाहरण हैं. ई. वी. रामकृष्णन की ‘मेकिंग इट न्यू’ में हिन्दी, मराठी, गुजराती और मलयालम काव्य–साहित्य का तुलनात्मक अध्ययन किया गया है. उनकी पुस्तक “लोकेटिंग इंडियन लिटरेचर’ भारतीय साहित्य से सम्बन्धित लेखों का संग्रह है. मेरी खुद की भारतीय साहित्य पर तीन पुस्तकें हैं: ‘इंडियन लिटरेचर – पोजीशन्स एण्ड प्रपोजीशन्स’, ‘ऑथर्स, टेक्स्ट्स, इस्यूज’ व ‘इंडियन लिटरेचर: पैराडिग्म्स एण्ड प्रैक्सिस’. अक्षय कुमार की एक पुस्तक है – ‘पोएट्री, पॉलिटिक्स एण्ड कल्चर’. यह सभी पुस्तकें अंग्रेज़ी में हैं क्योंकि आज भारतीय साहित्य के तुलनात्मक अध्ययन की लगभग सारी श्रेष्ठ कृतियाँ अंग्रेज़ी में लिखी जा रही हैं, जिनमें से अधिकांश गोष्ठियों व आन्थोलॉजी की देन हैं. इस तरह के अध्ययनों का अंग्रेज़ी में होने का एक कारण यह भी है कि आज विभिन्न भारतीय भाषाओं से सैकड़ों अनुवाद अंग्रेज़ी में हो रहे हैं, आन्थोलॉजी लिखी जा रही हैं और लगभग अंग्रेज़ी ही भारत की संपर्क भाषा बन गई है, जबकि यह भूमिका हिन्दी द्वारा निभाई जानी थी. हिन्दी ने यह मौका इसलिए गँवा दिया, क्योंकि यदि श्रेष्ठता के अहसास के कारण नहीं, तो फिर शायद अपनी शिथिलता के कारण, हिन्दी बोलने वाले लोग अन्य भारतीय भाषाएँ सीखने और उनमें लिखने के लिए आगे नहीं आए. लेकिन मैं यहाँ एक बात और बताना चाहूँगा कि हममें से अधिकांश ने अपनी मातृभाषाओं में भी भारतीय साहित्य पर अनेक निबन्ध लिखे हैं.

प्रश्न 9. भारतीय साहित्य की अवधारणा को विकसित करने में साहित्य अकादमी की क्या भूमिका है? उसके लिए आप के क्या सुझाव हैं? क्या इस तरह की और भी संस्थाएं हैं? क्या ऐसी अन्य संस्थाओं की जरूरत है?
उत्तर: साहित्य अकादमी ने अपनी गोष्ठियों, पाठों, परिचर्चाओं व अंग्रेज़ी पत्रिका ‘इंडियन लिटरेचर’ व हिन्दी पत्रिका ‘समकालीन भारतीय साहित्य’ जैसे प्रकाशनों के माध्यम से भारतीय साहित्य के बारे में काफी जानकारी पैदा की है. अकादमी ने अपनी हज़ारों आन्थोलॉजी की पुस्तकों, मोनोग्राफ व अनुवाद–पुस्तकों द्वारा भी यही काम किया है. लेकिन भारत इतना बड़ा देश है और भारतीय भाषाओं का इतिहास इतना सम्पन्न है कि सिर्फ एक ही संस्था आवश्यकता के अनुरूप सभी कुछ नहीं कर सकती. नेशनल बुक ट्रस्ट ने भी अपने ‘आदान–प्रदान’ कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से कुछ उल्लेखनीय अनुवाद प्रकाशित किए हैं. क्षेत्रीय साहित्य अकादमियाँ भी प्रायः अपनी भाषा से अंग्रेज़ी में और कभी–कभी हिन्दी व अन्य भाषाओं में अनुवाद कराती हैं. मेरा सुझाव है कि सभी राज्यों को इस तरह के काम के लिए अनुवाद–केन्द्र व ब्यूरो आदि स्थापित करने चाहिए. हिन्दी अकादमी जैसी संस्थाओं को ऐसे काम करने चाहिए. यदि सरकार राजभाषा पर खर्च की जाने वाली अपनी धनराशि का एक चौथाई भी अनुवाद की संस्थाएँ और अनुवाद–फंड स्थापित करने पर खर्च कर दे तो स्थिति बहुत बेहतर हो जाएगी. मुझे नहीं लगता कि हिन्दी की संस्थाओं ने भारतीय साहित्य को एक साथ लाने की कोई पर्याप्त कोशिश की है. पहले भोपाल का भारत भवन भारतीय काव्योत्सव व अनुवाद की कार्यशालाएँ आयोजित किया करता था लेकिन अशोक बाजपेयी जी के जाने के बाद वह भी अर्धमृत सा लगता है. भारतीय साहित्य के पुस्तकालय व भंडारागारों की स्थापना, अनुवाद की परियोजनाओं का संचालन, अनुवादकों के लिए विभिन्न भाषाओं में अनुवाद का प्रशिक्षण, ऐसे अनेक कार्य हमें करने होंगे. चौबीस भारतीय भाषाओं में अनुवाद–पुस्तकें प्रकाशित कर रही साहित्य अकादमी ही एकमात्र संस्था है जो इस दिशा में कुछ करती हुई दिखाई पड़ रही है. वह विभिन्न प्रकार के एन्साइक्लोपीडिया, व्हूज़ हू, बिब्लिओग्राफी तथा प्राचीन, मध्यकालीन व आधुनिक साहित्य की आन्थोलॉजी आदि के माध्यम से भारतीय साहित्य का एक डाटाबेस भी सृजित कर रही है. लेकिन सीमित कर्मी–बल व संसाधनों के बूते केवल एक ही संस्था इस बारे में कितना कुछ कर सकती है?
