शेक्सपियर की रचनाओं का सिनेमाई रूपांतरण का स्मरण होते ही विशाल भारद्वाज याद आते हैं। गुलजार साहेब याद आते हैं…शेक्सपियर को हिन्दी सिनेमा में लाने की पहल याद आती है। शेक्सपियर की रचनाओं पर फिल्में बनाने में विशाल भारद्वाज के अग्रसर गुलजार थे। विशाल की शेक्सपियर कारखाने की ताज़ा फिल्म हैदर आपने देखी होगी। अब तक नहीं देखा?
देख आएं, क्योंकि कश्मीर की जमीन से Hamlet लाने वाले प्रयास पहले नहीं हुए। यहां वो कश्मीर नहीं जो आपने पोपुलर हिंदी फिल्मों में देखा था। आप इसे उनसे जोडकर देख नहीं पाएंगे। फिल्म में मिशन कश्मीर व हारूद की सदाएं सुनाई पडेगी। रोज़ा का कश्मीर भी। संदेह के आधार पर सेना द्वारा किसी कश्मीरी को नजरबंद की घटना पूछताछ की प्रक्रिया से अधिक हो जाया करती है। नब्बे दशक का कश्मीर आतंकवाद की समस्या से जूझता स्वर्ग था। कश्मीरियों को आज भी बहुत सी समस्याओं का सामना है। कश्मीर की एक पीडा का इशारा विशाल के गीत गुलों में रंग खिले में प्रकट हुआ ।
कश्मीरी महिलाएं इंतज़ार को जीने को विवश रहती हैं। किसी को अपने पति की वापसी का तो किसी अपने बेटे की वापसी का इंतज़ार। पति का इंतज़ार कर रही गज़ाला मीर खुद के समान औरतों को हाफ विडो कहती है… डिसअपियर्ड लोगों की बीवियां आधी बेवा कहलाती हैं। हैदर भी तलाश और इंतज़ार के उलझन से गुजर रहा। तलाश पर्सनल दिखाई जरूर पडती हो लेकिन ऐसा नहीं क्योंकि कश्मीरी लोगों के साथ यह गुजरता रहा है। हैदर का संघर्ष व्यक्तिगत बदले की कहानी में बाद में तब्दील होता है।
डाक्टर साब एवं रूहदार भी एक मायने में तलाश से गुजर रहे लोग हैं। बेहतर कश्मीर की तलाश कहना शायद गलत नहीं । फिल्म में कहानी से सीधे तौर से ताल्लुक नहीं रखने वाले दृश्यों में भी तलाश के पहलू। कब्र खोद कर सो जाने पर सीन ही नहीं पूरा गाना ……सो जाओ है। क्षणभंगूर जीवन को कश्मीर के परिप्रेक्ष्य में दिखाने के क्या मायने? हैदर होने या न होने की उलझन से संघर्ष करते कश्मीरी युवक का रूपक सा है । दरअसल उसके और उसके परिवार के साथ जो हुआ…पिता कानून के हत्थे हुए…घर गोले से उडा दिया गया। नब्बे दशक के कश्मीर को लेकर जबकी बातें ध्यान से जा रही…विशाल हैदर लेकर आएं हैं।
कश्मीर की रूह को महसूस कराने की कोशिश में विशाल ने Hamlet को एक दिलचस्प रूप दिया। गजाला मीर अपने पति का इंतज़ार कर रही एवं नहीं भी कर रही। एक संवाद में हैदर उनके दो चेहरों की बात भी करता है। मां बेटे का रिश्ता एक दो जगह अजीब लगा बाकी सब संतुलित ही था। गजाला मीर के दिल में खुर्रम के लिए इत्तेफाक मुहब्बत की हद का नहीं था। खुर्रम की आरोपित मुहब्बत की राह में खडी इंतज़ार करती अकेली महिला। खुर्रम भाई के प्रति ईमानदार होने का नाटक कर भावुक धोखा देने वाला था। भाई हिलाल मीर की गतिविधियों की जानकारी आर्मी को किसने दी ? डाक्टर हिलाल मीर ने जख्मी इंतेहापसंदो का इलाज करने का जोखिम भरा कदम उठाया था।
कश्मीर में आतंकवाद के साया होने का डर नब्बे के दशक में चरम पर था। घरों की तलाशी व पहचान पुख्ता करने का काम हमेशा किया जाता रहा। पडोस में पाकिस्तान होने कारण लोगों की पह्चान आज भी की जाती है। डाक्टर साब इसमें पकडे जाने बाद कानून के हत्थे चले गए। इंसानियत व जिंदगी की तरफ होने के जुर्म के फलस्वरुप। डॉक्टर हिलाल ने इसका जिक्र पत्नी गजाला से… वो ज़िन्दगी की तरफ…कहकर किया भी है । पेशा निभाने की अहद ने उन्हें इंतेहापसंदों के तरफ का बना दिया। हैदर में पिता के साथ हुए सुलुक की तह तक जाने की तडप …हम हैं कि नहीं में महसूस होती है। वो भी इंतेहापसंद इसलिए करार दिया गया क्योंकि उसमें ज्यादतियों का पर्दाफाश कर असली गुनाहगारों तक पहुंचने का पागलपन था। वो पिता की वापसी की उम्मीद लगाए रहता गर रूहदार उसे सच से वाकिफ नहीं करते। रुहदार डाक्टर साब के साथ गुजरे की हकीकत बताकर उसे उनकी कब्र तक पहुंचा देता है। अब एक बेटे को अपने पिता का बदला लेना था। हैदर के सपनों में आए पिता की बातें भी इसकी तस्दीक कर रही थी कि इंतक़ाम लेना है । लेकिन वो इंतक़ाम तक पहुंचकर भी बाप के मुजरिम को जीने की सजा देता है । गज़ाला’ दादा की विरासत से मिली इंसानियत…इंतकाम से सिर्फ इंतकाम जन्म लेता है…. बदले की भावना से आरोपित हैदर में भी माफी को जन्म देती है।
संवादों के मामले में इरफान खान के रुहदार सबसे किस्मत वाले रहे। कहानी में दाखिल होने अंदाज भी रूहदार से बेहतर किसी का नहीं। कवि का एक कोना हैदर में भी जिंदा था लेकिन उन्हें रूहदार समान रूह को स्पर्श करने वाले संवाद नहीं दिए गए। काश फैज की शायरी को हैदर की जुबान मिली होती । फिल्म में एक गीत …गुलों में रंग भरे अजीम शायर को याद करने का दिलचस्प तरीका था। लेकिन शाहिद कपूर को खिलने का अवसर कम मिले। विशाल ने बहुआयामी किरदारों के साथ कहानी को रचा फिर भी विस्तार बाकी रहा। विशाल डूब गए होत तो समुद्र में और भी मोती मिलते। बसारत पीर व विशाल ने हैदर की बहुआयामी शख्सियत को गंभीरता से नहीं लिया। धमाकेदार आगाज के हिसाब से रूहदार को भी विस्तार मिलना चाहिए था। गर किरदारों का सलीके से विस्तार किया गया होता …फिल्म व्यक्तिगत कहानी से ऊपर उठ जाती । हैदर की कहानी निजी से अधिक होकर भी कश्मीरियों के साथ खडी होने के लिए विस्तार पा नहीं सकी। कश्मीरी इतिहास व परिवेश से अलग Hamlet फिर से रूपांतरित हो सकती है। कश्मीर से लेकिन हैदर को अलग नहीं किया जा सकता। कश्मीर से अलग हैदर की कल्पना नहीं की जा सकती? कश्मीरी परिवेश वेशभूषा एवं किरदारों को लेकर एक अरसे से फिल्म नहीं आई थी। विशाल ने उसके लिए पर्याप्त हिम्मत जुटाई होगी। फिल्म युवा हैदर की कहानी व कश्मीर की दो सामनांतर कहानियों को लेकर चली …दर्शक किसी भी नजरिए से आज़ाद थे । व्यक्तिगत नजरिए वालों को उसमें केवल Hamlet दिखाई दिया । कश्मीर देखने गए लोगों को रूहदार व हैदर तथा कश्मीरियत का इतिहास व वर्त्तमान दिखा। नजरियों को मिलाकर भी देखा जा सकता है। हर हाल में मुंह मोडना बहुत मुश्किल होगा। एक बार फिर से सिनेमा में कश्मीर शबाब के साथ जिंदा हुआ ।
