मैं ऐसे लिख रही हूँ
जैसे अनाथालय में बहुत साल बाद
अपने अंधे बच्चे से मिल रही हूँ
तुम्हारे जाने के बाद
क्या कद निकल आया है उनका
कितने छोटे पड़ गए हैं शब्द
जो पहनाने लायी हूँ

तुम गए बुआई के बाद
और मैं भूल गई गेंहूँ उग रहा है
बैलों को भूख लगती है
तो सांकल खोल देती हूँ
बच्चे आते हैं
भूंजती ही रहती हैं बालियाँ पूरी शाम
मींड-मींड उन्हें फांकते रहेंगे मस्त गाँव के छुट्टन
घोंसले गुनती हुई
दूर-अंदाज
चिड़ियाँ भी इसी जगह उतरती हैं
पीढ़ियों तक उनके अण्डों में
दर्ज रहेगी मेरे खेत की निडरता
अब उत्सवी हो रही हैं बालियाँ
लबालब पके हुए हैं परिंदों के सुर
सुनती हूँ इतना
और याद रहता है
फिर बरसने लगता है आसमान
कीचड़ में घोपते हुए पाँव
