बिछुड़ते वक्त भी रोया नहीं है
ये दिल अब नासमझ बच्चा नहीं है
मैं ऐसे रास्ते पर चल रही हूँ
जो मंजिल की तरफ जाता नहीं है
मुहब्बत की अदीमुल्फुर्सती में1
इसे चाहा मगर सोचा नहीं है
लबों पर मुस्कराहट बन के चमका
जो आंसू आँख से टपका नहीं है
जब आइना था तब चेहरा नहीं था
है अब चेहरा तो आइना नहीं है
मैं ऐसे सानिहे2 पर रो रही हूँ
अभी जो आँख ने देखा नहीं है
जो शहरे इश्क का वासी है राहत
वो तनहा होके भी तनहा नहीं है

आईना बे-चेहरा है
आस की नाव टूटी हुई
दर्द का सागर गहरा है

ख्वाब का रंग सुनहरा है
मेरी याद की खिड़की में
सिर्फ तुम्हारा चेहरा है
जेहन की बात नहीं सुनता
शायद ये दिल बहरा है

मुकम्मल दास्ताँ होने से पहले
बिछुड़ जाना ज़ियाँ1 होने से पहले
बचा सकता है तू ही मेरे मालिक
किसी घर को मकाँ होने से पहले
बता दे कोई मुझको मैं कहाँ थी
जहाँ अब हूँ वहां होने से पहले
परिंदों की उड़ानें थी कहाँ तक
शजर2 और आसमां होने से पहले
बड़ी हसरत से किसको देखती है
मुहब्बत रायगाँ3 होने से पहले
बरस जाएँ ने ये आँखें अचानक
घटा के मेहरबां होने से पहले

हरेक ख्वाब की ताबीर थोड़ी होती है
मुहब्बतों की ये तकदीर थोड़ी होती है
कभी कभी तो जुदा बे सबब भी होती है

पलक पे ठहरे हुए अश्क से कहा मैंने
हरेक दर्द की तश्हीर1 थोड़ी होती है
सफ़र ये करते हैं इक दिल से दूसरे दिल तक
दुखों के पाँव में जंजीर थोड़ी होती है
दुआ को हाथ उठाओ तो ध्यान में रखना
हरेक लफ्ज़ में तासीर थोड़ी होती है

पहली ग़ज़ल बहुत उम्दा रही…लेकिन बाद की तीनों ग़ज़लें उस उंचाई तक नहीं पहुंच पाई
