दो सालों से हिंदी में उपन्यासों को लेकर कोई चर्चा नहीं हो रही थी. चर्चा के केद्र में नए-नए कथा-कथा लेखक आ गए थे. कुछ पुरनिया इनको सर पर बिठाए फिर रहे थे, कुछ मिनरल वाटर पी-पे कर कोस रहे थे. ऐसे में एक साथ आठ उपन्यास प्रकाशित करके लगता है वाणी प्रकाशन पाठकों का ध्यान एक बार फिर उपन्यासों की तरफ मोडना चाहती है. 8 दिसंबर की सर्द संध्या लगता है इन उपन्यासों की चर्चा से गर्म रहने वाली है. उपन्यासों में असगर वजाहत का ‘पहर दोपहर’, रमेशचंद्र शाह का ‘असबाबे वीरानी’. ध्रुव शुक्ल का ‘उसी शहर में उसका घर’, दलित-लेखक मोहनदास नैमिशराय का ‘ज़ख्म हमारे’, पुन्नी सिंह का ‘वह जो घाटी ने कहा’ कवि विमल कुमार का ‘चाँद एट आसमान डॉटकॉम’, मुन्नी बदनाम हुई के लोकप्रिय होने से पहले मुन्नी मोबाइल लिखने वाले प्रदीप सौरभ का ‘तीसरी ताली’ और सुरेश कुमार शर्मा का ‘मुमताज़ महल’ है. साल के इस आखिरी महीने में एक साथ आठ उपन्यासों के चर्चा के केन्द्र में ले आना इस बात का संकेत देता है कि आने वाला साल उपन्यासों का रहने वाला है. इनमें से कुछ उपन्यास हो सकता है उसकी भूमिका तैयार करें.
हर उपन्यास की अपनी खासियत है अपना अंदाज़ है. अतीत की जीवंत कथा कहने वाले असगर वजाहत के उपन्यास में वही चिर-परिचित शैली है जो उन्होंने ‘सात आस्मान’ की कथा कहने में अपने थी. प्रदीप सौरभ के उपन्यास ‘तीसरी ताली’ में तीसरे ‘जेंडर’ की कथा कही गई है. दिलचस्पी जगी हुई है कि किस तरह से आई है. रमेशचंद्र शाह बुज़ुर्ग लेखक है,’गोबर गणेश’ के इस लेखक को अब ‘असबाबे वीरानी’ दिखाई देने लगा है. वैसे इतना पक्का है है इसमें जीवन कथा के साथ जीवन दर्शन भी अवश्य होगा. किसी ज़माने में ‘अमर टाकीज’ जमाने वाले ध्रुव शुक्ल ‘उसी शहर में उसका घर’ का पता लेकर आये हैं. साथ में निर्मल वर्मा का सर्टिफिकेट भी है. वैसे उनके उपन्यासों में कथात्मकता हो न हो काव्यात्मकता की पूरी गारंटी रहती है. पुन्नी सिंह के ‘वह जो घाटी ने कहा’ की कथा के केंद्र में चम्बल घाटी है. किसी ज़माने में हिंदी फिल्मों के डाकुओं का घर माने वाली जाने वाली इस घाटी के प्रति हिंदी सिनेमा का आकर्षण ज़रूर कम हो गया है. लेकिन किस्से-कहानियों का आकर्षण अभी भी उसके प्रति बना हुआ है. किसी ज़माने में अपनी कविताओं में विस्थापन का दर्द लेकर आने वाले विमल कुमार इस बार प्यार के दर्द के साथ आये हैं. वह भी कथात्मक अंदाज़ में. पढ़ने पर ही पता चलेगा चाँद को उसका आकाश मिला या नहीं.
