निकाल आयी खिजाओं को चमन से पार बसंत
मची है जो हर यक जा वो हर कनार बसंत
अजब बहार से आयी है अबकी बार बसंत
जहां में आयी बहार औ खिजां के दिन भूले
चमन में गुल खिले और वन में राय वन फूले
गुलों ने डालियों के डाले बाग़ में झूले
समाते फूल नहीं पैरहन में अब फूले
दिखा रही है अजब तरह की बहार बसंत
दरख्त झाड़ हर इक पात झाड़ लहराए
गुलों के सर पै पर बुलबुलों के मंडराए
चमन हरे हुए बागों में आम भी आए
शगूफे खिल गए भौंरे भी गुंजने आए
ये कुछ बहार के लायी है बर्गो बार बसंत
कहीं तो केसर असली में कपड़े रंगते हैं
तुन और कुसूम की जर्दी में कपड़े रंगते हैं
कहीं सिंगार की डंडी में कपड़े रंगते हैं
गरीब दमड़ी की हल्दी में कपड़े रंगते हैं
गरज़ हरेक का बनाती है अब सिंगार बसंत
कहीं दुकान सुनहरी लगा के बैठे हैं
बसंती जोड़े पहन औ पहना के बैठे हैं
गरीब सरसों के खेतों में जाके बैठे हैं
चमन में बाग में मजलिस बनाके बैठे हैं
पुकारते हैं अहा! हा! री जर निगार बसंत
कहीं बसंत गवा हुरकियों से सुनते हैं
मजीरा तबला व सारंगियों से सुनते हैं
कहीं खाबी व मुंहचंगियों से सुनते हैं
गरीब ठिल्लियों और तालियों से सुनते हैं
बंधा रही है समद का हर एक तार बसंत
जो गुलबदन हैं अजब सज के हंसते फिरते हैं
बसंती जोड़ों में क्या-क्या चहकते फिरते हैं
सरों पै तुर्रे सुनहरे झमकते फिरते हैं
गरीब फूल ही गेंदे के रखते फिरते हैं
हुई है सबके गले की गरज कि हार बसंत
तवायफों में है अब यह बसंत का आदर
कि हर तरफ को बना गड़ुए रखके हाथों पर
गेहूं की बालियां और सरसों की डालियां लेकर
फिरें उम्दों के कूचे व कूचे घर घर
रखे हैं आगे सबों के बना संवार बसंत
मियां बसंत के यां तक तो रंग गहरे हैं
कि जिससे कूचे और बाजार सब सुनहरे हैं
जो लड़के नाजनी और तन के कुछ इकहरे हैं
वह इस मजे के बसंती लिबास पहरे हैं
कि जिन पै होती है जी जान से निसार बसंत
किसी का जर्द है जोड़ा किसी का केसरिया
जिधर तो देखो उधर जर्द पोश का रेला
बने हैं कूच ओ बाज़ार खेत सरसों का
बिखर रही है गरज आके बे शुमार बसंत
‘नज़ीर‘ खल्क में यह रुत जो आन फिरती है
सुनहरे करती महल और दुकान फिरती है
दिखाती हुस्न सुनहरी की शान फिरती है
गोया वही हुई सोने की कान फिरती है
सबों को ऐश की रहती है यादगार बसंत
