जनवादी लेखक संघ हिंदी के जाने माने आलोचक प्रो. विजेंद्रनारायण सिंह के आकस्मिक निधन पर गहरा शोक व्यक्त करता है। कल रात 11.35बजे पटना में अचानक दिल का दौरा पड़ जाने से उनकी मृत्यु हो गयी। वे 76 वर्ष के थे।
विजेंद्रनारायण सिंह का जन्म 6जनवरी 1936को हुआ था। उनकी शिक्षा दीक्षा बिहार में ही हुई थी, पटना यूनिवर्सिटी से हिंदी में एम.ए. व पी एच डी की थी, वे भागलपुर विश्वविद्यालय के अनेक कालेजों में अध्यापन करने के बाद हैदराबाद के केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय में विभागाध्यक्ष रह कर सेवानिवृत्त हुए थे। उन्होंने अनेक आलोचना कृतियों का सृजन किया जिनमें दिनकर : एक पुनर्मूल्यांकन, उर्वशी : उपलब्धि और सीमा, साहित्य अकादमी के लिए दिनकर पर मोनोलोग, काव्यालोचन की समस्याएं, अशुद्ध काव्य की संस्कृति, भारतीय समीक्षा में वक्रोक्ति सिद्धांत, वक्रोक्ति सिद्धांत और छायावाद आदि प्रमुख हैं। वक्रोक्ति सिद्धांत की उनकी मौलिक व्याख्या उनके व्यापक अध्ययन और चिंतन का एक अभूतपूर्व प्रमाण है। हिंदी साहित्य उनके इस योगदान को कभी नहीं भुला सकता। उनके जाने से सचमुच एक अपूरणीय क्षति हुई है।
उन्होंने 2005 में जनवादी लेखक संघ की सदस्यता ली, फिर वे 2007में हमारे केंद्रीय उपाध्यक्ष चुने गये, इस समय वे बिहार राज्य के अध्यक्ष थे। उन्होंने पूरे बिहार राज्य में जलेस को नयी गति व सक्रियता प्रदान करने में नेतृत्वकारी भूमिका अदा की।
जनवादी लेखक संघ अपने अति प्रिय और कर्मठ नेतृत्वकारी साथी विजेंद्रनारायण सिंह को अपनी भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करता है और उनके परिवारजनों व मित्रों के प्रति अपनी संवेदना प्रकट करता है।

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
