टूटी सीढ़ियों को चढ़ने लायक बनाता—
ईंट-गारे वाला मिस्त्री…
प्रॉपर्टी डीलर, सोसायटी इंचार्ज…
कभी-कभी नीली-पीली होती, उनकी पत्नी भी…
पड़ोसी— जो अपने साथ जमा कर आते हैं मेरा भी बिजली बिल…
जीवन— मेरे घर में रहने वाली मेरी ‘नौकरानी’
जो पता नहीं कब बन गई है, मेरी इस बैलगाड़ी का
दूसरा और अहम पहिया…!

नींद में थी मैं या था वह कोई सपना..
जिसे देखा ही नही…
लंबे समय तक जिया मैंने…
अचानक, कुछ हुआ…
न…
टूटा नहीं, बिख़रा नहीं
फिर भी, धरती बदल गई
आसमान बदल गया
रिश्तों के तमाम बवंडर,
अचानक शांत हो गए!
क्या ये कोई बुरा सपना है?
या तूफ़ान से पहले की शांति?
अगर सपना है तो खुद को चिकोटी काटकर,
हकीकत में लाऊंगी…
भला यह भी कोई बात हुई…
जीवन की जटिलताओं का भला सपने से क्या संबंध…
लड़ना-झगड़ना, रो-रो कर आखें सुजा लेना..
कभी खत्म न होने वाली बहस में,
दिन-रात एक करना,
तुम्हारे और अपने वजूद की दीवारों पर,
सिर पटक कर लहू-लुहान होना,
आरोप-प्रत्यारोप की नई किस्त लिखना..
इन सब पर सिर्फ मेरा अधिकार है..
इसलिए..
ख़बरदार जो सपने में….
हिसाब-किताब कर,
रफा-दफ़ा हुए तो…
क़सम खाती नहीं फिर भी,
भगवान कसम,
तुम्हें चैन से जीने नहीं दूंगी..
हर रात सपने में आकर,
नींद उड़ा ले जाउंगी….फिर ये ना कहना,
जान…‘सपना’ नहीं
तुम तो हक़ीकत में ही भली थी !
चाँद
चाँद उस रात तुम कितने सुंदर लग रहे थे,
अजीब सी बात है कि इससे पहले मैंने तुम्हें कभी गंभीरता से नहीं लिया था,
सच कहूं तो मुझे बड़ा आश्चर्य होता, जब कवि तुम्हारी शान में कविताएं लिखते…
लेकिन उस दिन पता नहीं क्यों मेरी नज़र तुम पर ठहर गईं.
मेरे अपर ग्राउंड फ्लोर के फ्लैट की बालकॉनी से जब मैंने तुम्हें देखा,
तब भी हम अकेले नहीं थे,
हमारे बीच..
मेरी बालकोनी पर लगा त्रिभुजाकार लोहे का ग्रिल था,
जिसके चौकोर खानों के बीच तुम फंसे थे,
ग्रिल के उपर एक चिक भी थी, लेकिन वह हमारे बीच ख़लल डालने में अक्षम थी,
फिर बग़ल का ख़ाली प्लॉट था, और उससे सटा एक तीन मंज़िला बिल्डिंग…
तीसरे माले की छत पर एक शेड थी…प्लास्टिक की..
और उसके ऊपर से झांक रहे थे तुम…
पता नहीं क्यों तुम्हें इस तरह से स्ट्रगल करते देखना मुझे बेहद अच्छा लगा…
लगा तुम इन अवरोधों को पार कर मुझ तक आने की चेष्टा कर रहे हो…
बेकल चाँद…
यह सोचकर मुझे बेहद सुकून मिला,
लेकिन अगले ही पल ख्य़ाल आया कि,
क्या एटीएस की बाईस मंज़िली इमारत के,
तीसरे फ्लोर की बालकोनी से भी,
तुम ऐसे ही दिखते होगे?
शून्य
तुम्हारे और मेरे बीच…
बाक़ी रह गया है तो..
सिर्फ शून्य !
हमारी आँखों..
बातों और,
नर्म हथेलियों के बीच,
पसरा है,
उस सफ़ेद बेद़ाग चादर सा..

ठीक वैसा ही,
जैसा इस वक्त़,

हाथी पार्क यानी सिर्फ पार्क…
वह खुली जगह जहां सैकड़ों लोग
लेते हैं खुली हवा में साँस !
पार्क में है मिट्टी,
मिट्टी पर घास, घास के उपर
बेंच, वॉल्किंग ट्रैक, आम, सीसम, पीपल
और नीम के पेड़.
पेड़ पर नाचती, फुदकती गिलहरी.
इसके अलावा भी है बहुत कुछ,
मसलन….
करोड़ों लीटर पानी की क्षमता वाली टंकी,
पानी का पाइप,
बाउंडरी वॉल और उसकी चारदीवारी के भीतर,
खेलते बच्चे, टहलती महिलाएं…
अनुलोम-विलोम करते बुज़ुर्ग.
कहीं-कहीं पर गीली मिट्टी, कहीं सत्संग..
बैडमिंटन, स्किपिंग, नवविवाहित जोड़े,
और उनका स्वच्छंद प्यार.
चौकीदार, बड़ी-बड़ी मशीनें…
16 खंभों पर टिकी पानी की टंकी,
पत्थर के हाथी पर फोटो खिंचवाते बच्चे,
36 फ्लोर की अंडर-कंस्ट्रक्शन इमारत,
एचआरसी, दिव्यांश, सुपरटेक, गौर ग्रैविटी..
और…
पता नहीं क्या-क्या,
इमारतें– जिनकी उँचाई याद है, नाम नहीं।
मायका
कितना कुछ छूट जाता है,
एक लड़की का,
जब छूटता है मायका.

बहुत से दूसरे लोगों की तरह मैंने भी हाल ही में तुम्हारी कविताएं पहली बार पढ़ी थीं. मैं तब भी प्रभावित हुआ था, अब भी.

कवितायें सुंदर हैं. भाव भी अच्छे हैं. कवियित्री को शब्द सन्योजन और उन शब्दो की आंतरिक लय पर विचार करना होगा.मसलन,अंग्रेज़ी का शब्द हठाथ अपने देसी प्रतिगामी शब्द के साथ उसी भाव्नात्मक लय को सम्प्रेषित कर पा रहा है या नहीं. मुझे महसूस हुआ कि भाव से कहीं ज़्यादा प्रचलन के शब्द कविता पर हावी हो गये हैं.
