एक चिड़िया को दाल का एक दाना मिला । उसनेसोचा कि इसमें से आधा वह अभी खा लेगी और बाकी आधा चोंच में दबाकर दूर देस उड़कर जा सकेगी । यहीसोचकर उसने दाने को चक्की में दो हिस्सा करने के लिए डाला । चक्कीचलाते ही एक हिस्सा तो टूटकर बाहर आ गिरालेकिन शेष आधा चक्की के खूँटे में फँसा रह गया । अबतो कोई खूँटे को चीरे तो दाना निकले और वह अपना सफर शुरू करे । पहलेचिड़िया बढ़ई के पास गई । बोली

इस लोक कथा में एक कड़ी और है जब मूस से निराश चिड़िया बिल्ली के पास जाती है. कथा में इससे मनोवैज्ञानिक आधार भी आ जाता है.अंततः बिल्ली चूहे की बात सुन सहज ही तैयार भी हो जाएगी..
हमरा दादी माई की याद आ गईल…बरोबर यही कथा वो भी सुनैले रलख…|
